Bronx, New York – Morrisania Diagnostic and Treatment Center, a community healthcare center of the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (HHC), today announced the opening of its redesigned Adult and Pediatric Suites to improve primary care capacity, reduce clinic waiting time and provide a more comfortable and pleasant setting for both patients and staff.
Located on the facility’s second floor, the redesign includes a triage room and two asthma treatment rooms. The newly expanded space features an ample and attractive reception area which serves as a centralized, welcoming space leading to both the adult and pediatric suites, and has been reconfigured to decrease waiting time with “one-stop” services such as financial counseling, nutrition and social work, integrating a patient-centered medical home model of care. In addition, as of October 2011, Morrisania is extending clinic hours to better accommodate working families and school-age children.
